By approving any estimate from Midolo Windows & Doors and allowing work to take place on your job site, you agree to the following terms and conditions.

1. Scope of Work
The estimate provided is based on the details shared by the client and reflects labour (and materials where noted) for the installation of the agreed-upon number and type of windows and/or doors. Any work not explicitly listed in the estimate may result in additional charges.
All estimates are subject to a final on-site inspection of both the site and the product to confirm final costs. this site visit is subject to a $300 site visit fee or can be conducted the date of install.
Estimates are provided for budgeting purposes only and should not be considered a final bill of sale.
2. Materials
Unless otherwise stated, estimates include labour only. If window materials or installation supplies are provided by Midolo Windows & Doors, they will be itemized separately. Materials such as spray foam or BlueSkin will be included only when outlined in the estimate.
Otherwise, provision of all materials is the responsibility of the homeowner or general contractor.
3. Site Conditions
The client is responsible for ensuring clear, safe access to all work areas prior to installation. Delays caused by blocked access, unsafe conditions, interference from other trades, or weather-related obstructions may incur additional costs.
Midolo Windows & Doors reserves the right to refuse work in unsafe conditions. Additional site visits due to site-related delays are billable at $300 per visit.
4. Installation Standards
All installations are performed in accordance with industry best practices, local building codes, and manufacturer instructions. Any deviations or special installation requests must be approved in writing before work begins.
5. Warranty
Labour warranty: Installation workmanship is warrantied for 30 days from the installation date.
Any required adjustments must be reported within 14 business days of installation for review.
If a site visit is required for issues not caused by our workmanship (e.g., actions of other trades, structural movement, product issues, damage after installation, or acts of nature), standard visit charges will apply.
A site walk with the owner is offered at the completion of installation before collecting final payment. Any concerns must be raised at this time.
· Product warranty: Product or manufacturer warranties are the responsibility of the supplier. Midolo Windows & Doors is not liable for manufacturer defects.
6. TIMELINES
· Most new-construction residential projects are completed in one day unless otherwise specified.
· Projects requiring additional visits due to site unpreparedness or missing/incorrect materials will incur a $300 return-visit fee.
· The client is responsible for ensuring all products are on-site, undamaged, and ready for installation.
· While we do our best to accommodate schedule changes, revised dates are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed.
· The client must communicate any changes to timelines or product availability as soon as possible.
7. Payment Terms
· Deposits for materials may be required depending on project scope. If needed, deposit requirements will be communicated in writing.
· Payment for services is due upon completion on the day of installation unless otherwise stated.
· Clients must be on-site (or have a representative on-site) at project completion to review work and submit payment.We do not return to the site for the sole purpose of collecting payment.
8. Changes & Extras
Any changes to the original scope
must be submitted in writing and may result in additional charges. Examples
include:
• Additional windows
• Structural modifications
• Changes to trim or finishing
• Oversized/heavy/specialty units
• Additional visits caused by incorrect or missing materials
9. Job Scheduling
Estimated install dates are provided at the time of estimate. Dates may change based on weather, product availability, or site readiness. Timely updates will be provided if rescheduling is required.
If your project schedule changes beyond what was originally discussed, revised dates or pricing cannot be guaranteed.
10. Cleanup & Disposal
Basic cleanup of our work areas is included.
Disposal of old windows, packaging, and debris is not included unless specified. A disposal bin must be provided by the client.
Where possible, our team will gather packaging and materials into a designated pile for your removal.
11. Liability
We are not responsible for damage to pre-existing conditions such as drywall cracks, existing trim, wiring, or structural deficiencies discovered during installation.
Midolo Windows & Doors
carries WSIB coverage for our workers.
The homeowner or general contractor is responsible for carrying any additional
liability or builder’s insurance required for the project.
12. Cancellation Policy
Cancellations must be submitted in writing at least 7 days before the scheduled installation date.
Deposits may be non-refundable for special-order materials or cancellations made within 7 days.
13. Access Equipment Clause
If elevated access is required beyond safe ladder use, it is the responsibility of the client or general contractor to supply appropriate lift equipment (boom lift, scissor lift, or scaffolding) and/or additional labourer assistance to assist with the install.
If required equipment is not available at the time of installation, the job may be rescheduled or billed for delays and additional visits.
14. Winter Rate Surcharge
A 20% winter surcharge applies to installations performed between November 15 and March 31 due to increased time, labour, and materials required to work safely in winter conditions.
15. Service Call & Revisit Fees
A $300 service call fee applies to any additional visit required after the initial scheduled date. This includes:
• Pre-install
inspections
• Delays caused by other trades
• Rework required due to site changes or interference
• Site unpreparedness
• Follow-up work unrelated to our workmanship
Additional per-unit charges may apply based on the scope of corrective work.
16. Window & Door Handling Requirements
All windows and doors must be staged in their final installation locations before our arrival.
If installers must move products from garages, basements, or storage areas, additional handling fees will apply.
Installers may delay or reschedule the job if materials are not accessible.
17. Standard Installation Scope of work
A standard window installation
includes:
• Placement of the window unit into the prepared opening
• Leveling, shimming, and squaring
• Securing the window for inspection
Unless specified, the following
are not included:
• Spray foam
• Insulation beyond basic application
• Exterior or interior trim
• Capping
• Jamb extensions
• Full BlueSkin application
Spray Foam
Standard foam application is performed from the interior only and does not include exterior foaming or filling of large gaps.
BlueSkin / Waterproof Membrane
Standard BlueSkin includes the sill and approximately 6” up each side. Full-opening coverage is an additional service.
18. Inspection & Approval
The client or site supervisor must inspect work upon completion. Any concerns must be reported within 5 business days.
If no concerns are reported, the work is considered accepted.
19. Unforeseen Site Conditions
Issues such as rot, mold, framing deficiencies, or structural damage may require additional work. A revised estimate will be provided before proceeding.
20. Jobsite Conditions
Clients must ensure safe, accessible work areas, including snow/ice removal and clearing furniture or debris.
21. Ownership of Materials
Materials provided by Midolo Windows & Doors remain our property until full payment is received. We reserve the right to remove or repossess materials in cases of non-payment.
22. Photographic Documentation
Photos may be taken for
documentation, warranty records, or marketing. No identifying information will
be used.
Clients may opt out by notifying us in writing before installation.
23. Force Majeure
We are not liable for delays caused by events outside our control including extreme weather, natural disasters, supply chain issues, labour shortages, or government actions.
24. Other
Measurement Responsibility
Midolo Windows & Doors is not responsible
for incorrect window or door sizes unless we have been explicitly contracted to
perform on-site measurements. If product sizing is provided by the supplier,
homeowner, or general contractor, any delays, additional labour, or required
reinstallation due to sizing errors will be billable to the client, including
any required return visits or corrective work.
Pre-Existing Conditions &
Surface Disturbance
Window and door installation may result in minor
disturbances to surrounding finishes such as drywall, paint, stucco, siding,
caulking, or trim. These impacts are often unavoidable due to the nature of
removal and installation. Midolo Windows & Doors is not responsible for
cosmetic touch-ups, repairs, or restoration of pre-existing or adjacent
surfaces unless explicitly included in the estimate.
Active Trades & Site
Interference
For safety and efficiency, no other trades may
be working directly in or obstructing the installation areas at the time of our
scheduled work. If other trades are present and interfere with safe access or
progress, the installation may be delayed or rescheduled. Any resulting
downtime, delays, or additional site visits will be billed at the standard rate
of $300 per visit.
Product Delivery & Inspection
It is the client’s responsibility to ensure all
windows and doors delivered to the site are correct, undamaged, and ready for
installation. Any delays caused by damaged, missing, or incorrect product will
result in additional visit charges. Midolo Windows & Doors is not
responsible for product quality or shipping-related damage.
Weather-Related Limitations
Midolo Windows & Doors reserves the right to
postpone or modify installation procedures due to unsafe or unsuitable weather
conditions, including heavy rain, extreme cold, high winds, or site conditions
that compromise safety or installation quality. Rescheduling due to weather
will be communicated as promptly as possible, and rescheduled dates are subject
to availability.
Structural Deficiencies &
Repair Authorization
If rot, mold, structural damage, or framing deficiencies are discovered during
removal or installation, all work in the affected area will pause until the
client authorizes corrective repairs. Additional labour and materials required
to address these issues will be billed separately. Midolo Windows & Doors
is not responsible for delays caused by structural issues or the work of other
contractors.
Removal of Existing Units
The removal of existing windows or doors may cause disturbance to surrounding
finishes, especially in older homes where materials may be brittle or
non-standard. Midolo Windows & Doors will take reasonable precautions but
is not responsible for damage arising from the removal of existing units,
including cracked plaster, stucco, drywall, trim, siding, or tile.
